Has anyone flown across the border to Vietnam? Especially to Dien Bien Phu? I will be travelling to Dien Bien Phu soon and would appreciate any advice/feedback.

I have flown back and forth to Saigon from Phnom Penh a lot. Takes about 50 minutes. I’m living in Hanoi now and fly from there to PP. It takes about 1.5 hours. I use skyscanner and trip.com to book flights. It’s pretty easy except for getting grab rides at saigon airport.  My Vietnamese friend usually picks me up there.

Thank you for the info. I was expecting Vietnam to be very different. I was happily surprised. I advise anyone who loves history to visit Dien Bien Phu. I stayed a night in Saigon on my return and will return soon to explore the city.

I love Vietnam. If you can, plan a trip to the city of Hue in central Vietnam. If you love history this city has a lot. You can fly in to Hue. I’d spend a few days exploring the city. Food is really good too. I’m living in Hanoi and really like it up here too.

Here’s some info on the city.
