What is the deal of the family visa!?

Post new topic

Hello all,

Recently I got a job offer from a startup company in Saudi Arabi. Now the problem is that I want to bring my family (wife and a child) with myself, but the employer is saying that we do not offer Family visa.
I don't understand, why can't they just allow family on my work visa? What's the big deal?
And the second thing is if there is any other way I can bring my family with me?
And third, I've heard that there is some charges if you keep your dependents in Saudi Arab individually?

I really need guide on this!

Thank you for your time.

That's basically the issue.  Employers have the discretion to offer family status in the contract - it is a factor of cost i.e. visa fees for family members, health insurance coverage etc.   If they do agree, then you are liable to pay the dependent fee per member (up to a max of 400) per month.  That works out to be too expensive for most people.

The other option is what people do i.e. get family over on family visit visas which allow them to stay for 90 days and can be extended to 180 days.  After 180 days, the family exits and then comes back.   However, this approach means they are not resident i.e. no health insurance etc.

Okay then visit visa sounds more efficient to me.
Is it legal to brought family on visit visa(the second method you suggested)?

XTang

Im bringing my family by myself. Its a lot cost but i cant stay away from them. You can do it chief. Just get your iqama and go to istiqdam office to check the requirements for u birng them according with your country and saudi embassy rules.

But isn't the visit visa is much easy and cheap then this family visa thing?

What he is saying is that talk to your employer, get family visa and offer to pay for it.  That will definitely cost a lot more than visit visa.

Before we respond to your agony, you need to clarify some QUESTIONS:

1- Where are you right now. Have you arrived in Saudi Arabia? Yes or No.

2- If yes, what is the visa profession on your iqama. This will determine whether or not you are qualified to bring your family to Saudi Arabia.

No, I am not in Saudi Arab now. I have got a job offer. I am in the process of moving.
And the employer is saying that the visa wouldn't be of family type.

If your employment contract is not accompanied family status, you can personally sponsor your family to come to KSA by way of permanent (resident) family visa or family visit visa at your own costs; for as long as you are fully accepted as member by Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
