COVID-19 and expatriation in Panama

Post new topic

Loïc

Hello everybody,

The COVID-19 crisis inevitably impacts Panama, between closed airports or periods of containment in some cities or even the entire country .
We would like to hear from you during this unusual period, to find out what the consequences of this pandemic are on your expatriation or expatriation project in Panama.

Does the current crisis call into question your long-term expatriation project?
If you are already settled in Panama, do you plan to return to your home country?

How are you living through such an uncertain period, especially if you are far from your loved ones?

Have any of you ended your expatriation in Panama unexpectedly?

Paradoxically, has this crisis brought you closer to some people?

What are your plans for the future?

Thank you very much for your feedback.

Hope you are doing well.

Loïc.

Hi Loic!

Our plan was never to move down there for a couple of years anyway, so the Covid thing has no impact on our plans,  overall. We have purchased some pre-construction real estate that won't be completed until at least then anyway. We also purchased some agricultural production that may be slowed a bit by  this thing, but I don't know yet.

Keep the plans!

Hi Loic,

We are originally from the west coast of Canada and move down to Panama in 2012.
As we sit and watch how Panama is dealing with this issue compared to Canada and the US, I can assure you there is no way we would ever return to Canada.
The government in Panama has made decisive decisions that is supporting the country in moving through this issue as quickly as possible.
Our choice to move to Panama, we know, now more than ever was the right one for our family.
The community in our part of Panama has been amazing in supporting each other and supporting those in need.
We will continue to grow our company, support others in their growth and the community as a whole.

Panama is my retirement plan. I am also from the WestCoast BC. I am looking at the Pedasi area . Do you have any insights on that area?

PPI Panama

Hi clluelo,

We do a lot of work in Pedasi and are currently working on 5 home interiors down there.
It is a beautiful area with great weather and stunning ocean views (depending where you are at).
We may just end up retiring in that area when the time comes.
Feel free to email me any direct questions you have and if I cannot answer them I will find someone who can.

Hola
If you are interested in Pedasi, you should be reading my wife's blog that she started before we moved to Pedasi, 7 years ago. www.ourthirdlifepedasi.com
