Hi everyone. My name is Wendy and I have lived in Salvagnac since 2004 so quite a few years. Me and my husband, both pensioners traipsed all the way to Albi prefecture three times in 2019 to secure our 10yr carte de sejour. Armed with a mountain of paper work, utility receipts, bank details, photos and passport copies etc, we were interviewed and finger printed. Although the process was tiering for us the process was not too bad.
My question now is: Do we have to do it all again or can we just renew the cartes online. I am now disabled and another Albi trip is out of the question.
Thanking you in anticipation of the answer I'd like to hear.

Hello, if you both have 10 year 'cartes de séjour' delivered in 2019, you should be 'en règle' until 2029.  'Traipsed' gives me the impression you walked all the way!  I hope, for you, that this wasn't the case.  Eventually, in 2029, you will be able to renew your cards online as by that time, I imagine that all administrative action will be via the internet.
The police have your fingerprints !  However, a lot can change between now and then but we'll be sure to hear about it one way or the other ...

Thank you so much for your reply. I am feeling a lot happier now. The 'traipsed' was the walk from the car park to the prefecture and back x 3!! I have MS and walking any distance is a problem and each time the one disabled parking spot outside the building was taken so I have already decided that should I need to repeat everything they would just have to throw me out of France. Many thanks again CeliAnn. Stay safe and keep well.

In 31 Toulouse you go on the web site of the Prefecture and get the form and the list and go to work. Collect the documents and a set of copies in the exact order as the list no Staples all A4 paper so they are the same size. A great idea. I put the originals in a folder in order also. I made an appointment to deliver the documents to the counter. It was a 15 min appointment. It was the most pleasant visit to the Prefecture ever no crowd no real lines everyone was pleasant and went out of their way to be helpful. I put the copies in order with a paper clip on each group of the list. And I put them in a folder so they stay straight in order. I handed my ID to the agent and the appointment slip. The agent asked for the copies, I handed the folder over. He took the copies out looked at each section quickly read the demand. Took electronic fingerprints. Asked for the photos which are uncut (they have the cutter). Said it will take 2 to three months and I will get an SMS to come and collect my new card. That is when you need the Stamps, I already had mine, since I did not know. He asked if I would be here that long and said my flight to the US is  10 Oct so he gave me a temp card until 13 Oct. It was so great. I have been coming on a new TLS for 3 years. And have not been able to get back in time to renew. After years of just coming and going. Good luck I hope it is good for you.
