Howzit.
1. Has anyone [or do you know of anyone] who has applied for asylum and got it?
2. What happens if one applies for asylum? I have been here [NZ] a few months.

New Zealand has a UN refugee quota but it's rarely ever filled - 250 a year arrive out of a maximmum of 750. Depending on your circumstances you could have a good chance.
