Hi ! Can anyone give me advice. I ordered some items through shipper to have sent to Santo Domingo. My items have been in Fedex Customs more than 60 days. I need help because I think someone at Fedex stole my packages because someone called me up and asked what my electronic items used for. I have not heard from them about the delivery of the items. They arrived in SD on May 10. I called an email sent the invoices in Spanish and English. They will not tell the location where they are in SD. I am just wondering should I just go to a Fedex location? Please advise.

I'm not sure about your case, I have ordered things from fedex and they usually take it to the address you enter when you buy, but in the future it's better if you use some intermediary company to avoid this issues, I made the mistakes of the past of ordering things with my dominican address and things would take months to ship.

With a courrier it's just a matter of a few days

Hi,

I am currently going through a similar problem with FedEx.

I had to email the CEO and the Managing Director of Customer Experience to get FedEx to acknowledge me and to start a search on where my package is located.

Try emailing:

Frederick Smith CEO: fwsmith@fedex.com
William Martin MD: wgmartin@fedex.com

Good luck!

So FedEx only gets it to the port or entry if it's value is over US 200.  Then your customs agent needs to take over and get it cleared. After this long it will take a good agent.  I can recommend Suggey Toribio.  She is very professional and speaks English.  Her phone and WhatsApp (809) 861-1911

Can you tell us what you ordered and its commercial value?

Jules Manning

$340.00

planner

Yup it will attract duty and sales tax.

How much should I expect to pay.Does duty and taxes kick in after $200.00? Or do I pay on the entire amount?

planner

Once you are over the 200 dollar threshold duty and taxes apply to the entire order.  Duty is by category and sales tax is almost always 18%.  There are some exemptions.

Good to know that after $200 tax kicks in on all of it and not just the over amount.

From personal experience - make sure the invoices are correct.  An error - intentional or not - has consequences.  They can reassess your entire case and place tax and duty plus fines in a new value!
