@crayzeee your salary is not qualified for EP, and as far as ur Masters Degree is concerned, 4$k salary is way below. Mom won’t really grant you Epass..

Some adverse records ban you from entering Singapore altogether, others only from living and/or working here. It depends on how serious your violation was.

I'm Australian and its my first time working in SG.

My issue: arrested and convicted in 2020 for driving with illicit substance in my blood - no charge 1st offence

21st July 2022 my employer to be applied for an EP (salary $8333PM)

26th July the MOM asked for more info (sent)

15th August 2022 - MOM asked for more details on court conviction (sent national police check across)

1st Sep 2022 - still says pending.

I've given up on getting an EP and moved on now. There is no way they will approve because of the drug charge

@Recruitmentman SG has least tolerance to drug consumption, so your decision to move on is righteous. Understand that it is frustrating but the laws are pretty stiff

• Again Requested for Bank Statements and IRAS Statement, Provided
• Again Requested for Skillset Validation, Submitted my resume (July 25 and waiting)

Pending till July End, Employer Extended visa by 1 month on special request for Work as August end Expiry

-- On August 10th EP renewal still pending, Employer moved me into his subsidiary company and post 1 week status "Invalid" Your Application Couldn't be Approved. Talk to your employer for more information.

(Looks Requested for educational documents and prove its for same position though they couldn't find the company as subsidiary )

--  Renewal was raised again with current company to extend the Pass on Request and got approved for one more month till September End

--  Now after 1 month extension, cancelled active pending one and Appealed the Subsidiary company with Company - Subsidiary Company hierarchy change and along with additional documents related to education)

-- Patiently Waiting..... Hope everything settles down soon.

(The same process for another employee movement from current company to Subsidiary took only 3 days for Approval post the company hierarchy tagged with same client at work)

Thought I'd share mine too. Leaving my current company to go to a new company in SG. Don't want to give notice until the EP is approved but might just do it anyway.. my EP at my old company was renewed in June 2022 and took a couple of days. My original EP at current company took 11 days in 2020 and that was during COVID!

Sector: Finance

Salary: Somewhere north of 10K

Relevant experience: 8 years

Status: Pending

I wrote this on another forum but the delay may be due to the high influx of applications trying to beat the deadline of 1st Sept when the rules changed. I suspect it's either that or just high influx of applications with the new graduate analyst season starting for a lot of the banks / a lot of people coming in from HK too.

Can only wait I guess..

@kbrit01 My 25 cents, wait for the EP approval to come before resigning.

In Current situations thought I have an offer, I stick to my current company EP Renewal process than accepting Offer. The only reason is...

• My Company gets the extension until the EP is Approved
• They extend my DP's too without much fuss.

If I want to accept offer and proceed filing EP, I would end up cancelling the current renewal and God knows what will be the outcome with Offered company when they file a EP.

I may put myself running out of days of stay in SG too. Better I stick till to my company as have a good RAPO with the Founder and they're smart in handling things.. which may not be the same with other companies in most the cases.

90 odd days is very unusual, something ain’t right. Get your employer to call MOM, you should get this moving towards an outcome.

@abhilashothers 8 weeks is process time for EP some cases, it will take more time to get the outcome.

@Itsmeraj average time is usually 2-4 weeks, stipulated on MOM website is 6-8 weeks. It depends on case to case basis, additional info or documents may be requested. Additional verification/ background checks may be required for educational qualifications or work experience.

@Shekhz Its a bit strange. This is not my first EP, yet it is taking more than 6 weeks now with "Pending" status.

Standard processing time is 6 - 8 weeks now, so be a bit more patient!

"Processing time for all EP applications will also be reduced from approximately three weeks to 10 days. As shared in the release, 85% of online EP applications are processed within three weeks. With recent technological upgrades to MOM’s work pass systems, EP applications will be processed, or an update will be given to employers, within 10 business days, effective immediately."

Mine was submitted online. Could you show me where you saw standard processing times is now 6-8 weeks?

Observation on the forum and from other sources.

It is obvious that they have a huge backlog and thus processing takes longer.

Sombody also posted that MoM themselves currently say 6 - 8 weeks, but I did not verify that source.

In any case, there is nothing you can do but wait - even if it takes > 6 months (we had such a case on the forum recently).

Since SG open, There's a lot of foreigners came to work here, so maybe a lot of NEW applicants & RENEWAL of pass in MOM(overload). So i think we just have to wait. Bcoz now, appointment to go MOM and ICA for formalities and issueance of pass are fully booked also(September &October).

Hi, want to ask some question

for background, I have 6 year experience working in IT industry in Indonesia. My wife just got a new job recently in Singapore and I also got Dependent Pass, so I move to Singapore with my wife but I also working remotely for my current company in Indonesia while searching for new job in Singapore

Just this week I got offer (got SGD6000 for the base salary) and the new employer just sent the work pass application last week. Yesterday I check the status and it shows invalid, and the reason is "Your application has not been approved. Please talk to your employer or agent.". My employer call the MOM officer and the officer says that I am not eligible to apply for a work pass and could not tell any reason, the officer also advised to look for another candidate as the chances of appeal is slim.

My employer said she will submit the appeal with strong justification, but I'm curious why the MOM don't tell the reason?

This is the standard answer if there is an "adverse record".

You can read about what that means (and what could have caused it) in numerous forum discussions.

There is no point continuing to look for jobs (or appealing) before this is cleared (if at all possible).

By the way: Working remotely for a foreign employer while on DP is illegal and can get you deported and banned indefinitely. You should stop that immediately!
