Oscar has posted on another thread and I suggested he  open a new one. So here you - this was his comments from another thread!

Lets expand this!

I am - Yo soy
you are - tu eres
he\she  - el \ella es
we are  -  nosotros somos
they are -  ellos son
I want - yo quiero
you want  - tu quieres
he\she wants - el\ella quiere
we want - nosotros queremos
they want - ellos quieren
etc, etc see where verbs come in very handy!
if you try to learn at least 3 verbs a day which is easy, you will get a good repertoire of words in no time.
verbs that we use in our daily life ,  want, eat, drink, walk, sleep, need, talk, buy, see to start with
I can send you basic verbs conjugated with Spanish equivalents to start you up
add me as a friend and we can chat off this page

Thanks everyone! I know for a fact many people spend an lots of time just browsing on the net for silly tuff,  videos etc, use the phone for a productive output for yourself, grab one of those spanish for dummies or othebooks and spend time learning while on the beach. it will make you feel better and as many stated, people will be happy to hear you try speaking their language.
I know i sound your Dad hahahahah just kidding
i used to tell this to my wife, use the phone in productive ways for you nost just waste time, it worked for me and her lol
Have an awesome friday and God bless you all!

This is a great idea for a thread! I'm always looking to improve my Spanish. Past tenses are the thing that give me the most problems for some reason so if you have any tips/hints on how to get those down, I would appreciate it. :-)

I have issues with past and future tenses as well. I make myself crazy with this.
colmcb
Yes, I tend to just say everything in present tense and hope I'm understood! LOL

And, for some reason, "le" and "lo" give me issues. I have no idea why
planner
Me too because it's not logical to me!  Who decides what is feminine and what is masculine??? 🤣🤣

Excellent...now ro find thread and to remember how to add Oscar (anyone) as a friend - sucks getting old and not remembering stuff without hours of trying until it clicks in again... :>)

My wife and I took in person lessons in Sosua for a couple of months.  While we’re back in the states we’re using the Duoling app. The strong parts of Duo are ease of use and easily mapped progression. I’m just now getting into some past tense now.  The bad part is you don’t have any real conversations.

We are looking to return to in-person for that when we return.
