Chr Palas Estates Paphos

Good Evening Folks

I know this is a long shot but any help advice greatly appreciated.

My Dad lived on and off in Paphos since 1986 after he first visited the place fell in love and he spent many happy years there.

My Dad recently died without leaving a will.

My solictor has processed the property and we are the stage of selling it.

I have been asked if I can find the the sale documents to help with Capital Gains Tax.

I think he bought it for about CYP£ 26k.

He bought the house of plan from Chris Palas (Palas Estates Ltd) and the company still exists but the telephone number does not.

In 2017 my Dad called Chris Palas office in Paphos and obtained the deeds no problem but didn't get any other documents.

The address is shown as Gladstonos 1, 8047, Pafos,- Cyprus T/P 26 233519 (no longer in use)

Has anyone access to clarify a current number.

Hope this makes Sense

Is there not an indication of price on the deeds. Recent  ones do and certainly ours has

ajgx4

Hi Toon (almost a good movie name)

There is a 1981 valuation of euro31k which is used for pricing services which the solicitor says will be accepted.

As the sale price is about euro135k we need to try and find an original purchase fee.

I know it is a long shot but my Dad spoke to Palas in 2017 to get the deeds and fingers crossed but the Cypriots do love their paperwork and filing.

If I get a current phone number it at least gives me a starting point.

I think CGT is based on on profits over 85k if I remember right ..but i think you can mitigate that for improvements made too..

Cheers Toon

Yep I have checked CGT but no receipts for the work as Dad trusted the blokes so it is still a couple of K but with the lawyer fees to sort out estate and sell the house it is all starting to add up oh yes and the .4% for the displaced Cypriots from 1974.

I have exhausted the internet links which only give the one tp number and the fax which have the companies contact for Palas Estates.

I was rather hoping that a member of the group might have access to more local information or contacts as he was rather prolific around Paphos in 80's & 90's and he seemed to keep in contact with his old clients.

There is a lady called Esme Palas who deals with real estate law ....maybe she is a relative.... She is a barrister at law at Michael Kyprianou Advocates and Legal Consultants

Maybe try Facebook in the" ask anything paphos" & "where why how Paphos" group.pages .. a lot more coverage there than here... Thousands of group users
