Should I wait for my Spass or apply for LTVP?

Hi everyone.

I'm in a situation where my employer already applied my Spass and its been 3 weeks that still pending and no results yet.

However, my boyfriend who is a singaporean citizen asked me to marry in SG. Is it possible that I apply the LTVP while waiting my Spass? Or should I wait the result of MOM for the Spass.

Actually, my boss kept on applying my Spass since last year (first quarter) where MOM always reject it and one of the reason is the quota. Now they applied my pass which is the fifth time, and it takes longer than before, of which we received the results like 5 days only but resulted for a rejected pass.

I read from the ICA website that LTVP takes months to approved. So I wonder if I could apply it early like this month. And is it possible to work to have LTVP so that I could inform my employer to use that instead?

Hoping to give me some advise. Thank you.

Cheryl

@justsay The official rule is ONE ongoing pass application at any one time, meaning S-Pass and LTVP is not possible concurrently. However, I don't know whether ICA and MoM correlate their data and would notice it.

Some general comments: After five rejections - and with an employer who obviously doesn't know the process and what their own quota is, I would honestly not put much hope into it, and look for another job instead!

Also: You are not allowed to work with an LTVP, so this is not an either/or question!

@beppi Thank you so much for the advice.

They rejected it 4 times due to quota. Last year has no quota and this year one of Spass holder resigned in Jan and my boss said they will apply my pass again after CPF is declared for 3 months so that they have available quota.

Maybe will consider to look for another job as this is also what my parents advise to me.

I was just afraid that I won't be able to secure again another job as most companies have no quota nor they don't want to employ foreigner. But I will keep try to send resume and apply for another job.
