Hi all. This is my second time posting here and I wish @beppi could help to answer my questions here. I should be commencing work on 9th October 2023,in which is just 2 weeks from this date. My Spass already approved and expiry date on 24th October 2023. However, a misharp happened last night in which I lost my International Passport (Malaysia). A police report already lodged this morning and now waiting for CCTV team (at shopping place where the misharp happened) to notify us as they said have to wait within 3 days. I also have notified my agent regarding this issue. She replied to me and saying that this is a very hard to fix situation because my Spass already approved. I am going to apply for new passport tomorrow (as the Immigration at my place said that today's queue number already maximized and can only renew my passport tomorrow) and it will be ready within a week time OR 7 working days. Losing my Passport is already stressing me out plus my money that should be used for when I were to start work in Singapore are also inside the same purse (including my rent money, pocket money & also transportation money). My questions are as follows:

1) As my SPass already approved with the lost passport's number, can it be amended once my new passport ready or HR need to reapply my Spass?

AND

2) If it can be amended through online by HR, will it takes a week time or can be settled within the same day?

AND

3) If given the time frame to settle this issue within a week time, do you think I able to start work in Singapore on the actual commencement date?

Thank you.

I am very sorry for your situation and wish you can resolve it quickly.

  • You need a valid passport to travel to Singapore, you you'll have to wait for that in any case.
  • The new passport number should be updated in MoM's system, which your HR can do. I have no idea how this is done and how long it will take - but given Singapore's very efficient authorities, I expect this to be quick and easy.

Good luck!

@beppi

Thank you for your comforting words, I felt more at ease now. 🙏 Hopefully it won't take too long. Thanks again!

Dear @beppi

God really is on my side. A good samaritan found my lost purse and passport. She took care of my belongings and will pass to me tomorrow morning. Everything still in its original condition, my money also still the same amount inside. I thanks God for this very fortunate event 🙏🙏
