Can Visit Visa be converted to DP without Exit?

Hello friends,

My family is in India and HPB is taking bit longer for vaccination certificates, can I bring family on visit visa and then convert it to DP without exit, what’s process please guide

A DP application (at MoM) is independent of a visit visa (STVP, issued by ICA).

Thus you can apply for DP, but there is no guarantee it would be approved and issued before the STVP expires. The STVP also cannot be extended due to this.

I recommend you wait until your own matters are cleared!

@beppi Thank uou for clarifications, if STVP is still calid and DP is approved then need to exit country and re entet again?

Based on my understanding..No need to exit if DP is approved while still on STVP. But if STVP expired even 1st month, and DP in process, STVP will not be extended.

@vivekrmadke This is not necessary - the DP just needs to be issued and the STVP invalidated (which is usually automatic).
