Travel to Singapore after Epass rejected

Hi,

I need advice and here is my case:

My Spass was cancelled with my previous employer on 30/09/2023 as I found a new job.

I stayed in Singapore on STVP issued by MOM after my Spass was cancelled, as this STVP will expire on 30/10/2023, I left Singapore to go back to my home country on 29/10/2023.

My new employer applied for Epass for me on 18/10/2023.

MOM requested more time to process on 30/10/2023

Epass rejected today 14/11/2023.

As my Epass is rejected now, I'm planning to fly into Singapore and stay for 25 days to settle my rent with my current landlord and pack all my remaining things. My question is, will there be a chance my entry will be denied as I'm entering using tourist visa, even I explain to the immigration officer my clear intention - that I'm coming back to pack up since my Epass has been rejected which I didn't expect because I quit my previous job to apply for this new one.

About my new employer, they planned to apply for Spass instead but I don't know when they will do so. So I want to fly in to pack my stuff just in case.

Please help advice on this because I don't want to have any bad impression or bad record.

My background: I've been studying (since Sec school) and working in Singapore for the past 15 years. All these while I was on student pass, and then Spass. (Changed job 3 times)

Thanks all.

This is just another example why one should not resign from the previous job before a new work pass has been approved!

The immigration officer can of course see your complete history, and willprobably ask questions. If you answer them truthfully and give no reason for a suspicion that you could work illegally, you will be fine. But staying almost a month just to pack your things does not sound believable - better visit for a week only!

@beppi As I have been living in Singapore for the past 15 years, I rented an apartment and stay with my 2 dogs, I will need time to relocate them as well as wipe out the entire house. Will this sound better or you would advice just to go in for a week?

Thank you for replying!

@KCLHY I do not know what sounds believable to an immigration office and what not - and also, whether they will take the time to understand your situation at all.

Sothe above is my own personal opinion only. You decide for yourself, what risks you are willing to take!

KCLHY

@beppi Thank you for your reply. I will consider carefully 🙏

KCLHY

@Ca9650 May I know how long is your stay? Did they ask any questions?

Ca9650

@KCLHY 3 days, no question, just scan passport through the machine and go

KCLHY

@Ca9650 Thank you. I guess because it was only 3 days then..
