Visa Type - confused

Post new topic

Hi – New here looks great.

I am planning to relocate to Cambodia and retire – I am 65. I have not ties in Australia and looking for an adventure.

I plan to take my business with me. It is purely online and it involves importing parts to make watches that I export to the world. I currently have a PTY LTD company. My questions:

•    Can I still operate the AU company.

•    Will I have to change my tax residence status

•    Will I need a working visa or

•    Can I get a retirement visa.

•    Any place I read up on any import/VAT exemptions on the parts I import. In Au watch parts are customs free but in Cambodia they attract 15% Import duty and 10% VAT

Thanks

I'm an "elder" who will be in Battambang for 10 months.  How do I meet people?

@Merryl Kravitz we go to Battambang often from Siem Reap. In the evenings the river walk is very nice. There's a nice pub and restaurant called The River. Also the international restaurant scene is nice. We like a few if the Khmer places as well as some Greek and indian food.

I'd start exploring the river area. Lots of people there in the evenings. Also there are some nice day tours you could take. My partner is Khmer so she took me last time on this wonderful tuktuk tour of temples. Also outside of battambang lots to do.

Just some ideas. Battambang is a nice city. I saw your other post about an agent. Try using a web search on Google for cambodia real estate agencies. We live in Siem Reap. Battambang is a few hours away for us. Nice getaway.

Thanks so much!  I want to hit the ground running when I get there and not miss out on anything!
