Still I was told you must have Arrived in 2021? So much information hard to process it all,

JoeKhmer

Come on man, when I told you the old rules it was days before the rules were changed.

As soon as I got the new info I posted it here. I cannot do more than that ;) .

You have been here for years so you know that the government can change rules at any time and with immediate validity.

Be happy, you don't need to go to Thailand, have a hard time at the embassy and maybe can come back.
Instead you just get in touch with Kim Lennox and you got your retirement extension of stay back, a year at the time.

Cheers mate, smile, things are getting better  ;)

I recently applied for a tourist visa. The embassy says that they process visas in 5-7 working days.
It's already been 7 working days, and nothing has happened.
Are they usually slow?
Should I start a separate thread?

JoeKhmer

You realize nobody knows what embassy you are talking about?

Anyway, embassies are not the fastest, but some are slower than others.

As you mention tourist visa, could you not have gone for the electronic e-visa, you can apply on line plus you don't waste a page in your passport for the visa sticker.

But I guess your passport is with the embassy so you just have to sit it out.

Good luck.

What about a working visa? 🤭

JoeKhmer

Working visas don't exist, but you probably mean the Ordinary visa to enter the country.
This visa that has to be obtained from a Cambodian embassy/consulate, is often called business visa.

Contact your closest embassy and ask them what the requirements are, as these can differ per embassy.

Good luck.

Hi Joe! I just decided to return to Cambodia early March. Thanks for all your help. I will be contacting Kim to arrange the retirement extension. Very excited to be returning. I hope we can meet for a cold beverage again. Going to get the tourist visa going online next :-).

To clarify for my slow brain, that's the number for Kim, correct?

And add country code +855?

Contact Kim before or after applying for e-visa online?

Thanks for your help, Joe.

Great to hear your plans.

Come to Kampot for a meet up, would be great

Come on a tourist visa and Kim can get you the ER extension.

See you soon!

Cheers.

Joe

Hello Gordie.

You apply on line for an electronic e-visa which is a tourist visa.

Within 30 days after arrival (better in the first week) contact Kim so she can convert your tourist visa into an extension of stay.

You first have to be in the country and then call Kim.

Cheers.
