Need advice work permit

Post new topic

Norbertdusa

I am an English teacher in Danang, Vietnam. I recently switched to a new language center and my old employer wants my passport so they can cancel my work permit. But, I fly out of the country in a few days so my new job can start paperwork for my 3 month business visa. I do not have enough time to give my employer my passport. But now they are saying I might not be able to leave the airport if I don't give them my passport (which I don't have enough time to have them do this) can they actually stop me from flying out?

The direct procedure is to stamp the cancellation of your current visa and give you a new 15 visa to leave the country.  In your case I suppose you don't need if you leave the country before.

The employer (your sponsor) can continue with the cancellation of your WP with a full notarized copy of your full passport and your resignation letter and a notarized copy of your flight ....  no need the original.

But I recommend to cooperate and keep vietnamese people happy....   avoid getting bad reports like you have abandoned your job. Try to go with your sponsor to the authorities and get your temprary visa and bye

Your new employer should be able to provide you with advice. What did they say?

I'm sorry to say but your new employer cannot start a new work permit without the old one being revoke saying this based on my own experience.

Good luck from now
