Hi,
I will be relocating to NZ soon, would like to know some details on the hospitals/health care.

My wife is pregnant by 4 weeks. We will be relocating sometime during the month of October. As part of visa process do we need to take any vaccination ? if so, is there any exemption for pregnant women ?.

Hi Veera,

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with your situation as I came to New Zealand by myself. However I can reccomend calling the Immigration New Zealand help line. It's a free service and they were a godsend for me when I was going through the steps for residency.

Their number is:
9 914 4100

If you're unsure how to dial a New Zealand number go here.

It may pay to check what the cost per minute is first though, sometime their hold times can be longish. They'll have an automated message telling you your place in the queue, if it's more than 5 or so I'd suggest hanging up and trying again another time.

Edit: They're open from 7am - 7pm Kiwi Time. :)
