Hi Mariam,

What is your favourite Danish food?

All the best,

Maria: Danish food is one of the "simpler" cuisines of the world, and it's not complex. Traditionally a plate would consist of boiled potatoes seasoned only with salt and pepper, a gravy, usually brown, and a piece of meat with some peas or similiar.

Neo-Danish cuisine is a bit more complex and seeks inspiration from French cuisine, and fish seems to replace pork. Some dishes are also Italian-inspired.

Maria: Go to this site http://www.aof.dk/kurser/

If you do not speak Danish then click " Mad og Vin" which means Food and wine which is one of the type of courses that AOF specialises in - they do a variety of short-time courses in just about anything including IT, music, excersise etc, but all of them are non-accredited courses - they are basically just to learn.

It seems when you choose the "Mad og Vin" icon, then you need to contact them by email in the little green field to the right below and let them know that you are interested in joining the next course whenever it is being offered.

N.B: Most likely you would be require to speak Danish in order to join and to benefit from the course - but do email AOF on the link if you have any questions.

Thank you. I am learning Danish in AOF for 1 year.

I have tried to click in that webpage but can not go futher more Mad og Vin. Why that?
Do you know where I can learn for cooking, specially danish food?.

Maria: That is great - then you know what AOF is. I think you should see if you can get a Cooking course in the same place.

It seems in the link that you need to click on the green in the right hand corner near the bottom of the page - apparently you need to log in and email them or something - perhaps because they are not sure whether to offer a course or not?

But the best thing you can do is either contact AOF directly on Monday if you go there to learn Danish or to send them an email.

To write them an email go to this link http://www.aof.dk/kontakt/

Then you need to choose the region of Denmark that you are in, and the town and you can fill in the form to contact them

I will contact them soon.

Maria: Cool, just in case - you need to click the "Skriv her til din lokale AOF" message first on the link, and then you can choose the region of Denmark on the map of Denmark, then when you have chosen your nearest AOF the email will display

N.B: I am sure you know this, but do also go to your local library and ask what recourses in regard to Danish cooking is available, they might be able to help

But I will try to find out other way to learn in library as you suggested. Tusind tak...
