What do you do if you still have connections in the US and need to receive mail in Sosua? I heard it cost a dollar a piece of mail? My husband will continue to be working in Africa but the company is out of Texas we are moving permanently to Sosua but still have mail from US. How exactly does that work anyone know?

Yes it is about a dollar a letter. Stop in EPS in sosua  and set up an account.  You will quickly learn to survive here with out mail.  We have not received a piece of mail in almost 6  years now and then only 3 cards the three previous years. All is done via the internet.

e=mail & skype for personal stuff.   also orange has cell  cards that cost only 5  or 6 pesos per minute talking to someone anywhere on earth. packages & personal mail  if not obsesive, is cheap.  curtail stuff you don't really need.
