Hello , did any US citizen moved from Basel to France near Swiss border ?
We would like to buy a house in Saint Louis but continue working in Basel .As we don't speak just a little French so fare , it's a bit frustrating since no one could tell us straight the steps to fallow - at the Mairie  they say a visa it's needed , others say no since we live in Switzerland . Could someone advice us on the steps and how long it could take , and how long till we start paying taxes in France .
Many  thanks !!  :cheers::)

Hi, if you have no income in France you will not pay taxes. On the other hand, it is best to declare your zero income in France because it will make you profit of other legal things :)
Inform yourself in several official instances near the place where you will live because in the "mairie" they don't always have the right info
Good luck
