Proof of income for marriage related VEC

Hey guys,

I'm looking to marry my VN Citizen girlfriend and was wondering if I am required to submit proof of my income in order to be granted a VEC for the next 5 years and live in VN?

I was thinking that if they were going to grant something for that long they would want to see evidence that I could sustain myself/us considering I don't work in VN.

I don't have a work permit and am also not eligible for one. In short, I can work remotely from a computer.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Rest assured, VN officials won't ask you to submit a proof of income etc. etc. for your VN marriage registration and subsequent VEC

Proof of income is not one of the requirements for a VEC. However you might make sure you have the cash on hand to do a round trip out of VN to renew it every 6 months or the money for a trip to Immigration every 3 months to extend your stay. On another note, it's not 5 years if your passport has less than 5 years validity, even if it does they'll still short you a few months or so when you get the VEC issued.

Most of the new VEC's have a 6 month validity,unlike the old ones which had 3 months. No need to do an exit every 6 months, just get 6 months in-country.
