Non Principal Applicant Residency

Recently I have just broken up with my partner who was the principal applicant in our residency application. We were granted residency early this year so I have just over a year now to wait until I can apply for PR. I believe that because we have now broken up I should declare this to immigration who will then determine whether I am able to stay in my own right? Is that correct?

Basically I just want to know what you think I should do? Should I declare this information to immigration and ultimately risk losing my residency or should I not say anything and complete everything when my ex does?

Any help or advice you could give me would hugely appreciated.

Welcome to the forum

Better you contact immigration. If you choose not to contact them and they find out about the breakup (and they will)  you will get banned from the country.

Thanks for the reply

Any idea what the process is from then onwards? Do they re-asses you? If so what would they be looking for etc?
