Hi,
I would like to ask about our situation.

My son dependent pass was expired and now on visit pass. We will apply for student visa (primary 5 in Private school)but will take longer amd the visit pass will be expired.

My question is,
1. can we extend his visit pass while waiting for student pass result?

2. What is the chances of the student pass being approved? (Currently only me working here in SG with S pass- with what i know approval also depends if i can support his education)

Sorry, I don't have experience with student passes for primary school kids - you could possibly ask his school's administration for advice.
But I can answer your question 1:
You can of course apply for extension of his current SVP. It is then up to ICA to decide whether it is granted or not. If not, he has to leave the country and wait abroad for the approval of his student pass.
I think you should not have let his DP expire!

Why you can’t re-apply his DP?

One thing you must know that for student pass, you can ask school to write a favourable letter on behalf student with intimation letter for his admission.

As the time is short, I would suggest visit ICA office to talk to them, carry all the valid documents. Before you visit, you should apply through SOLAR system immediately as the approval process would take time.

If visa extension didn’t grant then prepare him to leave Singapore and at no circumstances he should overstay here. Good luck
