Does the quote  "The road to hell is paved with good intentions" ring a bell..?

I mention this because it originated in Europe, long before S.E. Asia became
influential in Western forethought.   But then; "Money Number One" by Neil
Hutchinson is banned in Thailand + the Philippines for the damage done to
their tourism.    Reading that one small book alone will set your mind right...

If not, scroll thru the (infinite?) number of sad stories of Westerners who have
done it all before you for forever.   Then compare with stories of success...

Last I heard, land can only be leased by the Govt. for 99 years (?) but the real
danger for your son ( of whatever age) is that he will be almost certainly be
cheated or 'manipulated' into wherever the relatives hands lie...

Rest assured it has all been done before: and will continue to be...

I hope that I am not taking liberties but you might want to address your question to this forum member by PM.   https://www.expat.com/forum/profile.php … mp;lang=en  She is a Viet lawyer who has provided good advice on many occasions but will not openly promote her business here.

Seeing as it's a child and has no government issued ID, I doubt it. You need  ID when buying property and it is not issued until 14 years old.

I'd pass if I were you. Better save a bit of money in a more stable currency (USD, EUR, JPY etc.) in case shit hits the fan with the Vietnamese economy
