Advice needed on Single Permit

Post new topic

Hi All

We need some advice…

My husband was offered a job in Belgium in July. We submitted all docs to his new company on 24 Aug and his start date was 2 Dec. 6 Weeks later we found out that his SP was denied because his job was taken off the shortage list, but his new company will re-apply under a new job title that is still on the shortage list. This was 9 Oct. A week later his work permit was approved, but we are still waiting for his residential permit.

So, in the meantime we have quit our jobs, sold our house and all our stuff and come end of Nov, we will be unemployed and have nowhere to live, because we were supposed to land in Belgium today at 12pm.

We have followed up with my husband’s new company, but all they can say is that they are very busy and they have no indication on when the papers will be ready.

Is there a way of checking on the process from our side or expediting the process at all?

Any advice or assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Aneesh

Tricky situation :(

Unfortunately there is no means to follow this up or expedite the process.

What your employer can do, is also to inquire the status. it would take a month or more for the residence permit application to get processed.

:(  Thank you Aneesh
