Hi all,

My foreigner bf got denied entry at SG customs two weeks ago. He tried to enter SG a couple of hours before they enforced the ban on short term visitors. He went to Malaysia for a week and he actually prepared the necessary documents, place of residence (has family here), return ticket back to his country from SG as well, provided  documents that he has no travel to the affected countries in the last 14 days to the SG customs.

He was told by officers that he wasn’t eligible and the borders were closing already and was sent back to Malaysia actually. He’s worried that this will denial of entry will affect him from coming back to Singapore in the future to visit his family.

Does anyone have any advice on this? He’s planning to actually write an appeal to the remove black mark. Thank you.

The Singapore authorities are quite reasonable in such situations. Therefore I do not think his trying to enter and being told that he can't, due to a general travel ban (because of the virus situation), would cause any hardship or counted against him in any way after the situation returns to normal.
But of course he should not attempt to enter again until then!
