CIVIL REGISTRY AND MIGRATION DEPARTMENT - Migration Section is the place where I can download the MEU1 form.

The form does have the explanatory Guidance paragraph that:

" 2.1 If the purpose of residing in the Republic of Cyprus is other than the above:
(a) Fixed or adequate income from employment outside the Republic; or
(b) Fixed or adequate income from other legal sources; or
(c) Adequate deposits in financial institutions in the Republic or abroad; and
(d) Proof of comprehensive health insurance in the Republic."

Yet I do not seem to find the place where I can tick that "other" box/provide the information abut the self-sufficiency.

Also, if my understanding correct that if we (UK citizens, a family of 5) arrive and lodge our residence applications before the 31st December 2020 we can benefit from the current EU free movement provisions ?

yes - for the meu1 application to locate and reside here under self sufficiency rules you must prove sufficient income to support your family of 5 with full documentary evidence. Plus you must have sufficient healthcare cover and all ID requirements, marriage certs birth certs etc - some of which will be required to be apostilled in and by thecompetent authority in the country of issue (those documents that need this will be identified on an individual basis when you make the appointment in person (all 5 of you)

If you are to work here then you will need evidence of a job and provide evidence of sufficient income from that job which should include evidence of payments for Social Contributions towards the new Cyprus NHS service (GESY) - NB you cannot join GESY until after you have obtained your MEU1 or yellow sip as it is known)

Also note it is my understanding as long as you have actually made your appointment in person at the immigration dept before the end of Dec 2020 deadline you should be ok even if the actual date and time of the interview is after that deadline date... I also understand that it is likely that they may need to place appointments made right upto June 2021.... but the appointments must be made  in person before Dec 2020...

NB it is likely that new legislation including different and harder requirements will kick in for new entry appointments made in person from Jan 2021 as UK nationals will effectively be Third Country Nationals  after this date

Thank you, Toon.
