I am Bulgarian and just moved to Istanbul. I’m starting a small online business (via Instagram) where I will be selling handmade products and shipping worldwide.
Would this allow me to get a residency permit? As I plan to produce and dispatch my product from Istanbul (home office).

as far as i know, you have to be a taxpayer to practice e-commerce. otherwise, there are penalties. so, if you will establish a company, you can have residency.

Okay so if we register the business here in Istanbul, then she will get a visa?
How does that even work? How do we make an online business official in turkey?

Likasabova when your register a company in Turkey they will automatically make you get tax numbers to properly register the business, and anyone who is a non-turk who is a shareholder, or owner, or partner of the business will need to get one to. You will need these tax numbers to start up bank accounts, etc.

Also once you have this business documentation you need to go and apply for a short-term resident permit which they will give you for anywhere between 1 to 2 years to allow you to stay in the country, and run your business when you apply for this you will also get a tax number from what I understand.

I have not heard of any issues with starting up any online business expect that you need to collect VAT, and sales tax if you sell within Turkey if you are selling specific products online. As far as selling items outside of Turkey I have not heard anything about chagrining the same local taxes on the products since the few times I did do business with Turkey my products wasn't charged with a VAT tax. Maybe because I was buying from a factory or wholesale, and it was not retail.

I also plan to start an online business, and I don't know of any regulations that would stop you from starting one, and Turkey is a good country considering you can get faster internet then any other country in the region, and also they have good prices for it.

You will first travel to Turkey on a tourist visa, and after you travel to Turkey on a tourist visa, you will then apply for the short-term permeant residence permit by showing your registered business documents, or you can show them that you plan to register a business in Turkey, and they will also give you, your short-term permeant residence permit.

Every word you wrote answered the 100s of questions I had in my mind.
THANK YOU GREATLY! This was truly very helpful.
If you have any other tips for new small business starters, please do not hesitate to share. My sister is still you and she is pouring her everything into this. I’d hate for it to go to waste because of something silly we overlooked.
