I am completely new to international home buying and moving. I travel (used too) through out Europe and looking for a home base or second home. I am primarily looking at Ireland and or Italy.

My question is, what types of financial services from banks in Ireland and possible for non residents. Are lending services possible? Mortgages or lines of credit... ect.

Any help guidance would be great. Just for your information I have reached out to banks with no successor of a return email. So no official guidance from any lenders.

Thank you again

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

The chances of you getting a mortgage from an Irish domestic bank if you don't live and work there are pretty remote.  So, what to do, take a couple of weeks holiday and call in to see some Irish banks personally; use the time to check out the local housing situation, then at the end you'll have a better idea of the feasibility of your plan.

I'd recommend the same for Italy.

Hope this helps.
