UK does not want to adopt euro

Post new topic

I am curios about the actual reasons why UK does not want to adopt the euro currency. At the moment they say they are not interested in changing their currency yet.
What do you think about this? Do you think EU should force UK to adopt the euro (although this is not an option)? Also, what would be their strong reasons?

becouse the euro has made everything exspensive it did not change europe for the better. it regimented europe and made people less free than ever.languages remain variable and so should money, before people were free to move and work for more or if higher paid could move and live for less. now they are all uniform euro slaves

the uk pound is stronger than the euro therefore uk won't adopt the euro

I am British, the only reason Britain has not adopted the Euro is because so many British people see losing the Pound as losing independence from Europe.

There are so many people in Britain who are anti EU and the British government know this, and there are so many anti EU newspapers as well, Britain will remain anti EU for the foreseeable future.

Most people in Britain do not even know that the Pound is strong, and by the way, it is not as strong as it used to be.

Britain needs Europe and in the future it will need it even more in a changing world.

Yes, I definitely think that would be a great idea - do away with the silly old pound and make the British use the Euro.
One thing it would liven up the EU MEP elections this coming May.  :)
Can't wait to see how Nigel Farage would take that.  ;)
