COVID JAB - How to get one if NOT registered with the SNS

I am not registered with the SNS. Indeed I am not resident in Portugal ( though thinking about it as an option for near future ).  Present plan is to be here till mid or late October.

I am wondering if there is any way I can obtain a Covid jab  ( I believe the Moderna one has been assessed as providing better protection against the Delta variant ), even though I am not registered with the SNS ?

I have already had 2 x Pfizer innoculations.  But I read that Pfizer themselves are now recommending that even people double jabbed should get a booster.  Mine would be due in September.

So - anyone know if it possible to pay for a private Covid jab ?  And if so, where in either the Eastern Algarve or Lisbon should one make contact to make an appointment ?

Perhaps this is seeking to over egg the pudding -  but does one get a CHOICE of jabs anywhere ? [ I also read that mixing the jabs is thought to provide better protection...]

As with any vaccine, including Covid, you need to be registered at the NHS.

You can get a vaccine at the private health system, e.g. Tetanus, HPV, etc... (in the case of Covid it is not even possible, only at NHS) but you must always be registered at the NHS.

But how does that work if one is not eligible to register for the National Health Service ?

Or is it possible to register as a temporary visitor for three months ?

There are no walk in vaccine centres, like there are in many countries now ?

Why don't you go to a vaccination centre and ask about it? It's always worth a try, and then let us know here how it goes. It's always useful for others interested in this topic.

Well where would I find such a Centre in  VRSA ? Or Tavira ?

How would I get past reception without an appointment made online ?
