Hi All,

I am currently working on EP and my wife working on DP. I have got an offer from another firm and very soon they will be applying for my new EP. Once I get my new EP what will be impact on my wife's DP and her existing job. Does her firm need to renew her job application as well since her DP is linked with my old EP. With new regulation she cant work with LOC and I am afraid my EP pass change will impact her job.
Appreciate if someone clarify what will be correct processs so my wife doesnt lose her job.

Thanks.

Shekhz

LOC on basis on which your wife works today on a DP that is tied to your EP, has been abolished. So your job change even renewal would imply she looses her job. Can’t do anything, except her employer applying for a pass for her (quotas and fair hiring practice guidelines applicable).

DP is tied to your EP, when you get a new application approved, you would request your new employer to assist in getting her and your other dependents (if any) approved.

In addition to what Shekz wrote above:
Your wife's DP and LoC will cease to exist the moment your current EP is cancelled.
From that moment onward, she has to stop working (until she has a work pass on her own merits) and she will get a 30-days STVP. After those 30 days, she has to leave Singapore, if she does not get another visa in the meantime.
Now you have the following choices:
- Ask your new employer to apply for another DP for her. If that is approved, she can continue to stay in Singapore, but not work.
- Ask her employer to apply for a work pass for her - which might be difficult, as Shekz has mentioned above.
- Or you remain in your current job, then she can continue working without change - until her DP/LoC expires (it will not be renewed!).

Thank you Shekhz and Beppi.
My wife is checking with her firm if they can apply for S pass for her.

Hi folks,

My wife's firm has applied for her S pass and my new employer will be applying for my EP along with her DP application by next week. Can her S pass application and her DP application run in parallel? Will it cause hurdle in either of the approval.

Please make an effort to search this forum, this is a very popular question raised numerous times and has relevant answers here. I wouldn’t have to write so much, if you had done the necessary due diligence yourself :)

Short answer- Only one application at a time
