Hi folks,

I found a new opportunity as an Analytics Manager, APAC in London HQed travel experience pass issuing company.

The HR applied EP on 1/Aug/2022
EP got rejected on 6/Aug/2022
HR checked the reason for rejection and she told as below,
"The application has been rejected due to our turnover value that had been declared previously. I will be appealing this application and keep you posted of the outcome"

EP appeal was done 8/Aug/2022 with supporting documents provided to MOM.

HR also told even though EP became invalid (or rejected as per the old nomenclature), MOM still did not email her the rejection outcome.
She proceeded with the appeal on the MOM portal with supporting documents on latest company turnover.

I asked her more details on why it was rejected on the basis of turnover to understand it clearly - she mentioned the old turnover value was what was keyed in by previous person handling the mom account. Which she did not check during application and now appealed with supporting documents on new turnover value.

About the company: new to APAC but well established in EMEA and NORTHAM.
They have <10 employees in Singapore (Hence, as per MOM website they are exempted from the "job advertising for 30 days" rule). HR however posted the job on 29/July/2022 on mycarreersfuture website to have a record still.

About me: I am here in Singapore for close to 10 years now working in the data analytics field.
I hold a masters degree from NUS (graduated 2014), Total experience: around 10 years with relevant experience of 6 years in analytics.

The new company is offering me 144K+ base salary per annum.

She shared screenshot that states the outcome can be expected in email within 3 weeks. However MOM website says EP appeal processing takes within 6 weeks.

What are my chances on the EP appeal approval? I just think MOM just needs the new turnover documents from the company right?

I even checked with HR to withdraw this application apply a new one with all the right information this time (Reason: the outcome being faster for new applications as I got the outcome in like 5 calendar days even though it was rejected)

HR replied that we have our grounds of appeal in this application, we will appeal first and see what MOM says before taking next steps.
Any advices please?

Obviously, the rejection was because of the employer, not you as a job-seeker.
So your chances depend on how the company convinces MoM that they can be an appropriate employer. Small and new companies without a track record get a lot more scrutiny here!
It is never faster to withdraw and apply again. All timings you see on the MoM webpage or elsewhere are very rough estimates and reality can deviate. Basically, it takes as long as it takes, and there is nothing you can do but wait!

Thank you, @beppi. Yes, will wait (which is really hard and keeps you hanging in air) for the appeal outcome. But seriously, how as an employee can we control these company mistakes? sorry I am just venting out my thoughts.
I really hope the appeal will soon be accepted and approved by MoM.

As in many other ways, you are dependent on the employer here and cannot control or do anything against their mistakes.
That's why it is important to have a good employer!
But at least you have no deadline and an automatic "Plan B": Stay in your old job for now. Not all are that lucky!

Thanks @beppi . You are right! I hope mine comes through soon.

Update on my status:
Ep Applied: 1/Aug/2022
Ep Invalid/Rejected: 6/Aug/2022 (due to company turnover details being old in their MOM account)
Ep Appealed: 8/Aug/2022 (with latest turnover details and supporting documents)
Ep Pending: 12/Aug/2022 (moved back to pending again)

Hoping it will get approved soon.
