NZ Super eligibility

After gaining NZ citizenship through living and working there from 2016 to 2023, we (my wife and I) moved back to the UK to look after elderly parents.

We now wish to return and retire in NZ.

What I’m trying to establish is that will I be eligible for NZ Super at 65 (I’m 62 now)? I’ve read that to qualify, I need to have spent 12 years in NZ, At the moment I only have 6.5 years. But there is an SSA agreement with the UK that means I can use those years to make up the deficit.

Has anyone got experience of this and able explain the process?

I’ve tried the International pensions advice in both countries and have got nowhere in understanding whether this is possible.
