Hello all,

I am an expat Aussie living in Manila. My new wife and I are seeking information about the Tagaytay City area as we wish to make this our home soon. Specifically, if you know the ins and outs of buying land and building and if you have done it, please share your experiences. We don't really want to go in a subdivision. Our dream is to buy land and put up a two apartment building, living in one and using the other as an investment.

We are currently staying at the Wingate Manor on Magallanes Drive for our honeymoon. Great location for a quiet and peaceful honeymoon. We really like the surrounding area as a place to live.

Thanks for your input about this Tagaytay area.

Hi,welcome to Expat.com.Enjoy your honeymoon and hope you get some information on the land issue.I am arriving in Manila next week for the first time.And plan to go to several islands.

Hello Robert and Cristina,

I am a REPAT. Although I was born here in the Philippines, I moved to the States when I was young I spent the majority of my life there. After I got separated from wife, I came here to explore the possibility of starting a new life. I left my house, business, cars and everything else except what I could carry with my two arms. I am now happily re-married to a teacher who is going to take her Real Estate Broker's exam in March. We are starting a Real Estate business here in Tagaytay that would cater to Expats mainly, who are used to the western style way of doing business. If we can be of help, please let me know.
