When you say 'they will not confirm', what do you mean exactly?

If you applied using the website of the Ministère de l'Intérieur, sending your scanned documents, you should have immediately received an email confirming receipt of your application.  This is automatically generated but shows proof you have applied and can be presented until you get the card itself. 
I got my Carte de Séjour back in January this year, having sent in the necessary documents.  Then I was contacted by email giving me an appointment to go to the Préfecture de Créteil where my fingerprints were taken and a few easy questions answered (my parents' names).  My Carte arrived through the post 3 weeks later.

I would recommend checking your initial application, look into your spam, etc.
Or alternatively, use the website and apply again ... you have till 30/06 so still have time.

Hello, You have to do it online , posting papers are not being processed, there is withdrawal agreement , online ends 30th June, final date to apply#also, driving licenses have to be transfered with prefecteur because online is blocked. This has to be done within a year of driving in France

I sent in my papers firstly by post but they were sent back to me and I was requested to go online, I have an appointment on May 6th for my carte sejour with court translateur, I am at Avignon university sitting examination A2 for Francais language and I have siret code amd my vitale is on its way. I have a monthly pay tax return, I do holiday let as well. merci Louise
