Bringing a dog to Libya

My family are about to move to Libya, and we're hoping to be able to bring our dog with us. We have heard from some sources that it is not possible at the moment to import a dog into the country, and I was wondering if anyone had any recent experiences of bringing a dog to Libya, as the information we have received is rather conflicting? Are there any websites/people we can call to find out more info?
We really don't want to have to leave her behind so any advice at all would be much appreciated. She would be coming from the UK, fully vacinated, pet passport etc.

I think there is no issues at the moment in bringing a dog over to Libya, as my next door neighbors recently brough one over from Canada. Let me ask them in detail of the procedure then I will get back to this forum.
